Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what US companies ask before working with us. If yours is missing, ask it on the fit call.
Questions
Who owns the code and the IP?
You do. Our contract assigns all code, designs and documents to your company as invoices are paid. Repositories and cloud accounts live in your name from day one.
Do you take equity instead of cash?
Sometimes, and only in part. We consider it after an Expert Sprint, when we both believe in the market, and only on a Launch Build. We use a standard SAFE and cap how much of our time goes to equity deals. Most clients pay cash.
How do time zones work in practice?
Our day runs 7am to 5pm Central European Time, and 24/7 in case a rapid response is needed.
Does using a team outside the US change our taxes?
It can. Since the 2025 tax year, US companies can deduct R&D done in the US right away, while R&D done abroad is spread over 15 years. For a startup that isn't profitable yet the effect is often small. For a profitable company it can matter. We walk your CFO through the numbers before you sign. We are not your tax advisor, so confirm with yours.
Can you work with air-gapped or classified systems?
We build and test offline installs and updates, and hand over everything your admins need to run the product with no internet access. We don't work on classified systems or contracts that require US persons. For those, we partner or advise.
Is our data safe with you?
We work in your accounts under your security policies, sign your NDA and DPA, and use test data wherever we can. In case you want maximum data privacy, we can also pair up together with internal teams and work hand-in-hand where we only handle test data and your internal team plugs it into production.
Do you work outside cybersecurity and business consulting?
Yes. Cybersecurity is our deepest area of expertise, followed by business consulting across accounting, tax, finance and law. We also build end-to-end products for other sectors, including AI systems, ML pipelines and custom models. We assess the product, data and domain requirements with you before committing.
What happens after the first project?
Whatever serves you best. Some clients hire their own team and we help recruit and hand over. Others keep a monthly pod. No lock-in: after the minimum, 30 days' notice ends it.
